We call this the breakthrough problem, but it could be very good to deliver their obvious potential issue. Not so spicy, but it fits the bill for different racers with whom we make contact or tell stories in Racer No. 335.

For Alex Palou, already a triple NTT Indycar series champion and to come home to a fourth title while you read this the lack of an oval racing victory on his statistics magazine only a somewhat annoying anomaly, but perhaps a larger deal for others. While he tells in our cover story, he put that right in the greatest way possible by winning the 109th Indianapolis 500. Seal broken, he then added a second to the Iowa Speedway Bullring. Happy now?

We also look at how the Spaniard, at eight wins so far in 2025 and counting, compares with the great Indy Car seasons of all time of legends such as AJ Foyt, Al Unser and Mario Andretti.

For Oscar Piastri it only seemed like a matter of when, not if he would become a real Formula 1 -Titel candidate. But halfway through the schedule of 2025, with a season-high six Grand Prix victories and a 16-point championship lead on considerably more experienced McLaren teammate Lando Norris, it is the speed with which the third-year F1 driver has become the man they all have to beat that surprises us.

Can Piastri become the third Australian driver who wins an F1 title? We remember the antipodeic aces who preceded him champion Jack Brabham and, in a fascinating retrospective of his title-winning season 1980, Alan Jones.

We also present the most important role of Robert Kubica in the 24 -hour Le Mans of the AF Corse Ferrari team. He was intended for an F1 Ferrari chair before he sustained a large and permanent arm injury in a rally crash of 2011 that completely reset all existing expectations. But Kubica never lost confidence in his own potential, and the Le Mans victory is more than redemption – it is a declaration of intent.
