Evans retired from playing at the end of last season after a second spell at Man Utd, and last summer took up a role as head of loans and pathways at Old Trafford.
However, following the dismissal of Ruben Amorim, Evans is back on the Red Devils’ coaching staff, and is making a particular impact with his work on the team’s set pieces.
That is according to the Telegraphwho claim that Evans was the mastermind behind the well-worked corner routine for the opening goal in the recent victory over Tottenham.

The report goes into detail about Carrick’s impact since replacing Amorim, and it seems the fact he delegates to his coaches is a key detail.
When Amorim was in charge it seemed his younger staff were a little quiet and hesitant to speak, but Carrick seems content to have been challenged by the likes of Evans and Jonathan Woodgate.
It is also becoming increasingly clear how important set pieces now are in the modern game, so if Evans can continue to help United in that area it could be crucial in closing the gap with Manchester City and Arsenal.
What else has changed at Manchester United?
It appears Carrick’s training sessions are also a bit shorter, as are team meetings, while players appreciate time off on Sundays.
This seems to have gone a long way in improving the mood at the club, and it’s easy to see as the team looks a lot happier overall with the way they’re performing on the pitch.
A lot of that is clearly down to tactics, with Carrick returning to using a back four and bringing Kobbie Mainoo back into the starting lineup.
But it seems there is also important work being done behind the scenes to take the team to the next level, with former players like Evans also clearly playing a key role as this looks like a team with more identity again.
