With Gameweek 3 on a Sunday, this meant that there was no time to record the revised statistics for Sunday’s matches in Fantasy Premier League (FPL).
Maxence Lacroix (£ 5.0 million) terminated one defensive contribution (Defcon/DC) shortage of the threshold of 10 needed for defenders to earn two extra fantasy points.
Unfortunately for his owners, as soon as OPTA had rated the victory of Crystal Palace in Aston Villa, he was hit by 10 Defons – but he did not achieve his two DC points because the game week was already closed.

To accurately display the performance of a fantasy player, Player satistes> Fantasy statistics Show now Defcon points that have been taken directly from the FPL website:

However, Player satistes> Defense is unchanged: it still uses our OPTA data to calculate Defcon’s success.
In the end it is not Lacroix’s fault that the game week was closed early; If there had been a competition on Monday, the statistics would have been updated and he would have achieved his two DC points.
He reached the required 10 Defcons and therefore keeps his 100% record. If fantasy managers who want to recruit players, it is better that the statistics reflect what happened in the game instead of cutting off before the OPTA race reasons are completed.

Lacroix is one of the six players who have reached the Defcon threshold in each of their performances this season.
We have also added a new stat to Player satistes> Defense KPINamely ‘minutes by defensive contribution’.

When setting the filter ‘Minutes per at the latest’ at more than 45 minutes, we remove players who tend to appear late on the couch, and the resulting table gives us a good idea of who is doing well in Defons.
For those of you who are happy to build customized stat tables, the following Defcon statistics are now available:

And for Defons from Fantasy, use the statistics that start with ‘FPL’:

The two new Delta statistics – ‘Defensive contribution Delta’ and ‘Defensive Contribution Points Delta’ – Compare our OPTA data with FPL.

They reveal that it is not only Lacroix who missed two extra points this season, but also Bruno Guimaraes (£ 6.5 million) too. The Brazilian required 11 Defcons, a shortage of the threshold of 12 for midfielders, when Gameweek 2 closed after the defeat of Newcastle United in Liverpool. After the Opta review the next day, he rose to 12.
There are differences in the underlying statistics for a number of players. Michael Keane (£ 4.5) For example, two Defcons is worse off, but none of those changes were consequences because nobody had not reached their positional threshold because of them.

It naturally works both sides.
Palace Will Hughes and Leeds United’s Ethhan Ampadu (both £ 4.9 million) have two Defons more on FPL compared to the revised match data from OPTA.
Until now, however, no player has led to achieve two Defcon points that they did not deserve. Although it is certainly only a matter of time before it does.
