Summary
This game started pretty sloppy for both parties until the first penalty was mentioned and the first goal of the match followed shortly thereafter. Frank Nazar from the Blackhawks scored on the Power Play to set his team 1-0. It was a handy pass that was set up by Teuvo Teravainen and Tyler Bertuzzi. That was the only goal of the first, and the Blackhawks took the lead in the second period.
Nazar remained his scoring skills in the second tones when he barely picked up his second goal of the game for a minute in the middle period to give his team a lead of two goals. He skated right around the defense of the wild and snipped it past Gustavsson. Bertuzzi helped him for his second assist of the Night and Sam Rinzel received the secondary assist for his first of the game.
De Wilde reacted just past the half point of the second period to a goal from Hunter Haight. He beat in his own rebound and was assisted by Tyler Pitlick and Carson Lambos to make it a 2-1 game. Those were the only goals of the second period, and the Blackhawks were in charge in the third and final period.
The Blackhawks extended their lead in the third period when Ryan Donato scored to bring the score to 3-1. He was assisted by Connor Bedard and Wyatt Kaiser. The Wilde thought they scored, but it was thrown away because of the interference of goalkeeper and the score remained 3-1. The Blackhawks scored a final goal on the empty net to bring the score to 4-1. The goal was scored by Nazar for his third of the night and he was assisted by Teravanen. That goal sealed the night and the Blackhawks won the victory.
The Wild stays at home for another preseason game on Tuesday 30 September against the Winnipeg Jets before he sets off to complete the preseason. The Blackhawks go back home on Tuesday to organize the Detroit Red Wings before they have a back-to-back to end their preseason.
