Naz Reid van T-Wolves organizes youth basketball camp in New Jersey

Minnesota Timberwolves Center Naz Reid returned to his home of New Jersey to organize an exclusive youth basketball camp. The two -day camp, held at the Hoop Group head office on Heck Avenue, was founded for young striking athletes in classes 8 to 11.

Naz Reid grew up in Asbury Park

The location of this year’s basketball camp is special, as it was where it all started for Reid.

“It was always good here [on Heck Avenue]. Hoop Group had their own tournaments here and I first played with the Shoreshots, so everything we did was based here. This is a bit like my home -meagering grounds, “said Reid Charles Daye from the Asbury Park Press.

“I won one of my high school playoff tournaments here. I won B-Ball Spotlight here. And I have a lot of history here. Coming back was only good and it is special.”

After Reid was unknown in 2019, he signed a two -way contract with the Timberwolves. He spent his entire six-year-old NBA career at De Wolves after he appeared with LSU in the 2018-19 season in 34 games.

“Everyone has their own path,” said Reid. “When I grew up, I was always a top 3 player in my class. Then not to go, it was a milestone. A time to shift my way of thinking to the hunted to now.”

Reid has always had the feeling that he had ‘something to prove’ on and next to the field. The 6-foot-9 Big Man hopes that its high school heaters share a similar mindset if they intend to reach the NBA level.

“It is clear that the basketball speaks for itself, as far as it is competitive and have that competitive mind and ahead, just try to dominate everything for you,” said Reid. “I had something to prove as far as I stayed in my position or stayed in my first place.”

Reid drew a new deal with Timberwolves

After winning the Sixth Man of the Year from 2023-24, Reid had average career heights of 14.2 points, 6.0 rebounds, 2.3 assists and 27.5 minutes in 80 games (17 Starts) with the wolves last season.

In 15 games of the bank during the 2025 play-offs, he registered 10.4 points, 4.7 boards, 1.7 dimes and a play-off-career-high 25 minutes per game while he shot a career-best 50.9%.

Earlier this season, Reid and the Timberwolves correspond to a new five -year contract of $ 125 million to stay with the franchise, according to ESPNs Shams Charania.

The deal also contains a player option in 2029-30, according to Reid’s Agents, Sean Kennedy and Jeff Schwartz from Excel Sports. The 26-year-old was eligible to sign a four-year extension of $ 87.2 million on 27 June.

Moreover, Reid could have been canceled and subsequently inked an extension of $ 94.2 million of $ 94.2 million. The $ 21 million salary in the first year would have started in 2026-27.

Per ESPNs Bobby MarksMinnesota has dedicated more than $ 110 million in salary to starters Anthony Edwards, Jaden McDaniels and Rudy Gobert for the 2026-27 season.
