Pakistan pacer Naseem Shah remains with the team to play the ODIs against Sri Lanka despite attackers attacking his family home at his residence in Lower Dir. The only good thing was that none of the family members were injured.

The Pakistan team is largely dependent on their three fast bowlers, who form the backbone of their attack, with Abrar Ahmed and Mohammed Nawaz being the only spinners in the side. However, there is no denying that Saim Ayub has played a very fine hand with the ball in recent times, often bowling alongside skipper Shaheen Afridi with the new ball.

Naseem Shah remains with Pakistan for ODIs in Sri Lanka despite an attack on the family home

On Monday morning, ANI reported an attack on the family home of Pakistani fast bowler Naseem Shah in Lower Dir. It was reported that unknown assailants shot at the gate of his family’s house and then escaped.

It was reported that none of the members of the house were injured in the attack, and police immediately launched an investigation. However, it is not yet known who was in the home at the time of the attack and what the intentions of the attackers were.

However, the Pakistan pacer seems unaffected by the incident and has remained with the Pakistan team to take part in the upcoming ODI series against Sri Lanka. The three-match ODI series is scheduled for today, November 11, and the attacks took place yesterday, November 10.

Pakistan named Naseem Shah in the ODI and T20 Tri-series squad

Sri Lanka’s home matches mark their arrival in the country after a gap of almost six years. The ODIs will be played between November 11 and 15. This will be followed by a T20I tri-series with Zimbabwe being the third team participating after Afghanistan pulled out of the fray.

Pakistan won the T20 and ODI series against South Africa

Naseem Shah has been picked for both the T20I tri-series and ODI series with Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe. This series would mark their second home series, with the focus now slowly shifting to the T20Is, citing the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup.

Pakistan defeated the last T20 World Cup finalists, South Africa, in a three-match T20I series and then also in the ODI series, both by a 2-1 margin. After the home series ends, the Pakistan team has scheduled a series against Sri Lanka on the island as they will be the official hosts of all of Pakistan’s matches in the 2026 ICC T20 World Cup.
