MVP carries the promotional weight for the Paul vs. Joshua, and at a recent press event after UFC 322, White made it seem like he had no idea there were plans to stage this Netflix fight on December 19th. Bidarian and White have a broader history with each other, as the former was once the UFC CFO.
When speaking about the Joshua-Paul fight after his promotion’s offer at Madison Square Garden, White speculated that it was rumored at the time that the boxing fight would be misleading to promote and would only draw interest from people who want to see “The Problem Child” turn off his lights.
Dana White “lies regularly,” says Bidarian, who doubts Paul-Joshua’s claims
Bidarian tapped into his personal and professional knowledge of how Dana White behaves in the context of this Jake Paul-Anthony Joshua situation:
‘That Dana said he didn’t know anything about it [Paul vs. Joshua] is a blatant lie. Dana lies a lot, so I’m not surprised, but I’m sure TKO was aware of this event. There are fighters who get guidance from the UFC and say, ‘Hey, if you fight MVP or Jake Paul, you’re not welcome here anymore.’
“You can’t come back, you can’t use the PI and you won’t be eligible for future fights.” That is the reality of how deeply angry they are. “It’s bad,” I think Dana said… Is it bad because it’s dangerous? It’s a lot safer than a slap contest, where two people just stand in front of each other without any defense. Jake goes to defend himself. Jake is moving.”
