YONKER, NY— The North American Amateur Drivers Association (NAADA) made a number of charitable donations totaling $5,000 this weekend between New Vocations and the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
Each organization received a $2,500 donation from NAADA from purse revenues generated by the club’s members, who do not retain the driver’s share of purse revenues when competing as amateurs.
NAADA continues to support the mission of New Vocations, an organization focused on rehabilitating, retraining and rehoming retired racehorses. It is an accredited 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization of the Standardbred Transition Alliance and is the nation’s largest racehorse adoption program.
“New Vocations continues to be a national leader in racehorse adoption,” said NAADA President Joe Faraldo. “We have been pleased to support the organization for many years and hope that they will receive continued support in the important task of rehabilitating, retraining and rehoming racehorses.”
NAADA also donated $2,500 to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides assistance to first responder families and veterans. The organization was founded in memory of Stephen Siller, a firefighter who ran through the Brooklyn Tunnel to rescue people from the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001 and was killed in the line of duty.
