Murrayshall harvests the rewards of Robotic Mower Investment – Golf News | Golf magazine

MurraysshallThe highly valued estate on a short drive from Perth has reaped the benefits of an investment in a fleet of Husqvarna robotic mowers to support the Green Keeping team and to further increase the general definition of his in the American Parkland-like layout.

Introduced as part of a six-digit deal with Murraysshall-owners Stellar Asset Management, the state-of-the-art robots are programmed to cut the raw, fairways and green surrounds three times a week to deliver a more consistent length of Snij-Splant and Healthier Graplant.

In addition, the use of robots in the early morning and the late evening enables the Green Keeping team to start their vital daily tasks and concentrate on giving first-class presentation in important areas of the championship and Lyredoch Golf Courses, plus the broad estate, which takes place within 365 hectare plets.

“Golfers always strive to play on the very best surfaces all year round and our investment in the Husqvarna robot-like lawn mowers has been a game changer to make this a reality,” said Gary Silcock, general manager of MurrayShall. “Our highly talented Green Keeping team can now visit their skills on other essential work around the estate to deliver the best possible product for members and visitors to enjoy,” he added.

Golf course manager Darrin Urquhart, who has worked at Murrayshall for the past 17 years and manages a team of five Greenkeepers and a mechanic, has seen first hand the positive difference that was made with the course presentation since the Husqvarna robotics was added to his fleet of machines.

“The Laser-Sharp-snit and the overall definition has made a noticeable difference for how the course is presented, while the feedback we received from golfers has been incredibly positive, which is fantastic to hear,” Darrin said. “The game-changing GPS navigation ensures that I can carefully map different areas to cut at certain times of the day, all of my smartphone app, which is a great help from a productivity position,” he added.

With easy -to -change knives, the new machinery purchase improves the durability references of Murraysshall, because the long -term robots are designed to cut the upper surfaces for the test of time. The regular lightweight mowing method, lower emissions and minimal repair costs help to lower the social and environmental impact of the award-winning location.

The investment was supported by Golf Finance, a specialist business financing company that focuses on helping golf clubs to navigate the challenges related to large assets purchases such as greenkeeping machines.

“When working with Golffinancing on this purchase, we were able to reach a tournament level that has been set up in a financially sustainable way, while we can also deliver a best-in-class experience and the best play surfaces in Scotland,” Silcock added.
