Senegalese wonderkid Mouhamed Dabo appeared to have escaped the clutches of Manchester United, but his future has taken another dramatic turn.
Just yesterday, The People’s Person said the 17-year-old has decided to sign for NK Kustosija in the Croatian third division, with the club announcing the signing on social media.
The message read: “One of the most talented midfielders in the world and captain of the Senegalese U-17 national team – Mouhamed Dabo has signed a multi-year contract with NK Kustošija!”
The Senegal U18 international was due to join his new club next summer, but today the club removed the post and provided no further explanation.
Statement issued by Be Sport Academy
The midfielder’s academy, Be Sport Academy, came up with one statement in which they refuted all these claims. They further stated that their prodigy is still up for grabs
“FALSE INFORMATION: Contrary to the information circulating on a foreign club’s account and widely shared, Mouhamed Dabo is still a Be Sport Academy player and available for a future transfer.”
This effectively means United remain in the race, with the Senegalese ace impressing United coaches during his trial period at the club.
He has also spent time at the La Masia academy with Barcelona, which clearly shows his quality. Therefore, the news that he signed for the Croatian third division made little sense.
Mouhamed Dabo is still there for the taking, United must hurry
This isn’t the first time news about his future has proven inaccurate. It was widely reported that Mouhamed Dabo had agreed to sign on the dotted lines for United.
Soon after, news broke that he had not done so, and there were potential roadblocks blocking the move.
It will be interesting to see what ultimately happens to the midfielder and which club he ends up at.
As for United, they have already completed a deal for Colombian teenager Cristian Orozco, with the wonderkid arriving in Manchester to sign his new contract.
