A mother-of-one whose massive breasts caused her pain and undesirable attention did her indignantly shared after the NHS refused to pay for a reduction in surgery.
Caitlin Telford, 27, from Glasgow, has years ago with unbearable back pain that was rejected by the NHS for breast reduction when she was only 17 years old, and already a size 32 g breast.
By the time she was only 25 years old, her breasts were bleached at no less than 36k, after the birth of her son Luca in January 2023.
But the young mother, now constantly pain and the development of grooves in her shoulders of the pure weight of her breasts, the treatment was again refused.
“It just puts you down because you feel, regardless of how much weight you lose, because you have a larger breast, you will never be a weight that you can be,” she said.
Mrs. Telford said that she felt ‘hopeless’, uncomfortable in her own body, but was unable to pay the £ 10,000 that it would cost to have the operation done privately in Great Britain.
“By the time I had left primary school, I was already bigger than most girls in my class and they just kept growing and growing,” she remembered.
She added: “They stood in the way and I would get a lot of unsolicited male attention when I went out.”

Caitlin Telford was forced to take painkillers for the unbearable back pain caused by the weight of her breasts
At the age of 17, Mrs. Telford visited her doctor for a consultation that she hoped would lead to a surgery of breast reduction.
“But the doctors let me down and said that because I was young, I didn’t stop growing so that they wouldn’t put me for it,” she said.
“Then the pain started over my back. I also developed grooves in my shoulders that constantly attracted my bra. ‘
Before he became pregnant with her son, Mrs. Telford did everything to lose weight in the hope that this would make her a suitable candidate for an operation, which dropped an impressive five stone to help her.
“I went back to the doctor when I had lost the weight and I was rejected again,” she said.
“It was annoying because they seemed to take my overall weight for my BMI and not to think about the weight of my chest,” she added.
At the beginning of this year, after she saw people celebrating in small dresses on New Year’s Eve, she remembered that she thought: “I just can’t do this anymore.”
In a final attempt to end her misery, Mrs. Telford went looking for private clinics further away.

Mrs. Telford said that when she came out, she would get a lot of unsolicited male attention from the age of just 17 years old, already a 32 g breast

Her operation means that she no longer has to take painkillers to manage her symptoms and already stimulated her self -confidence for her birthday when she looks forward to wearing a strapless top
She was then recommended a clinic in Istanbul, Turkey, who offered to do the reduction operation for only £ 3,600 less than half of the £ 10,000 that she was quoted in the UK.
With the help of a loan from her parents, Mrs. Telford underwent the ‘life-changing’ operation last month that saw her 11 cups fall on a modest C-cup.
“A few people I knew had been to Turkey and the price difference was unreal,” she said.
‘I am very happy with my new breasts and it has changed my life.
‘Now I can put on a vest -top and not feel that I am exposing myself.
Mrs. Telford is not the only woman who suffers pain from large breasts that have been denied surgery to the NHS.
However, NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde claim that only cases that meet all the necessary criteria are taken into account for breast reduction, due to a clinical assessment that regards the severity of symptoms and overall health.
Although some experts are concerned that women seek these procedures for cosmetic reasons, Dr. Judy Evans, honorary secretary of the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, at the BBC that women are fired far too often.
She said: ‘Breast reduction is surgery that can free people from neck pain, from back pain and enables them to better take care of their children.
“It is the most beautiful operation in terms of what it does for the person, but I also believe in the long term that it saves a lot of money for the NHS.”
While Mrs. Telford was successful by going abroad for surgical doctors, British have warned to be on their care to go abroad for cheaper procedures.
It is known from at least 25 Britons that they have died in Turkey in Turkey during or shortly after the operation in Turkey.
Much more have been injured, in which some people need life -saving care when returning to the UK for complications such as infections.
Although all operation entails risks, campaigners and surgeons have encouraged patients to do their research thoroughly before choosing to go abroad under the knife.
Breast reduction operation is usually performed under general anesthesia and includes repositioning the nipple, removing excess fat and tissue and the reforming of the remaining breast.
It takes about two to three hours and often requires that patients stay in the hospital at night to recover.
