More than half of the older Australians support increasing taxes on high Superanniety Saldi.
The federal government is controversially considering lifting taxes on super baldi above $ 3 million from 15 percent to 30 percent, a movement that is expected to affect around 0.5 percent of the savers.

Despite the protest of the opposition, about 57 percent of seniors endorses the change, according to a study among 3,000 people aged 50 and older conducted by National Seniors Australia for the Super Member Council.

‘Strong sense of justice’

Super Meden Council Chief Executive Misha Schubert said: “There seems to be a broad Australian concept about the importance of fairness and sustainability in the super system, and a strong sense of honesty as a starting point.”

Schubert said that the research results seem to follow with a wider public sentiment on Labor’s account.

Although a significant majority of respondents believed that the super system was strong and sustainable, relatively less thought it was fair.
Women, people with poorer health and Australians with less formal education had a lower confidence in his honesty, the report showed.

But in general, older Australians almost universally understand the importance of super with 89.5 percent who believes it should be saved for retirement.

One in four respondents supported early release of funds outside the current rules.
