More Jaedyn Shaw Magic at Gotham – Equalizer Soccer

Jaedyn Shaw again? Yup, we emphasized a Shaw goal of her Gotham debut two weeks ago. This is an assist, but it was too good to leave, especially in a weekend when many of the best goals did not miss any form of clinical structure.

Gotham already led the Doornen 1-0 and well on their way to a 3-0 beat, then a collection meals from the midfield and then somewhat sublime passing passing the lead near the peace.

It started with Emily Sonnett to challenge an exhaust pass from behind. This was not a great exhaust pass and you can see that even undisputed, Samantha Coffey would have had limited options. The ball broke loose and Coffey lost her feet, allowing Gotham to take possession.

Josefine Hasbo (above, opposite the ball) was the first place and she wasted no time and led the ball with a single touch. Hasbo’s touch started a series in which four players took a total of five touches to work in an attacking position.

Hasbo’s first ball went to Rose Lavelle who immediately played it back. Below is Hasbo between accents with Lavelle up and almost hidden between two thorns.

Note how Lavelle moves to the goal of the thorns, while both defenders look fixed on the ball. In the meantime, Jaedyn Shaw is running freely in the space in the middle of the park. The next touch is aimed at Shaw, but pay attention to two things. One is how Lavelle is broken and bursts into the room, looking for a corpse to come across. The second is, there is no way in which Shaw can do something with this pass, right?

Words could never do justice to the touch that Shaw turned on the ball to unlock Lavelle. So pay attention to the full clip and enjoy poetry in motion.

And here is a quick look at all three Gift Monday Goals Sunday, the first Spirit Regular Season Hat Trick in a decade.
