Piccalio renews its brand identity and evolves from toys to timeless children’s furniture that combines playfulness with modern design values.

Los Angeles – Based Piccalio has revealed a renewed brand identity that marks its evolution from a beloved wooden toy maker to a design-forward leader in children’s furniture. Founded in 2020, the company received recognition for the first time for toys inspired by Montessori that was just as carefully manufactured as they were safe, pieces that supported growth and play, while effortlessly fit into the modern interior.

That early ethos – of course, minimal and intentionally – has since been extended to multifunctional furniture. The folding helper tower, Cabriolet Tower and Pikler Triangle have become staples for families who see design as an expansion of daily life. Piccalio calls this philosophy “Kid Vooruit, Design Vooruit”: Furniture that grow with children while seamlessly melting into the composite rhythm of the house.

A brand renewal rooted in design values

The updated identity brings refined typography, clean, timeless and reliable, combined with warm, character -filled illustrations that nod after the playfulness of childhood. The visual system reflects a duality: objects and branding that celebrate the feeling of freedom of a child, while the desire of the parents for elegance, order and materials that they live with proudly satisfy.

Color also plays a leading role. Anchored by Walnut, an earth brown, and supplemented with Kiwi, Sky and Tomato, the Palette avoids the clichés of Pastel Kids’ Products, instead a design language rooted in nature, a long lifespan and refinement.

As creative director Aneta Kostic explains:

The things of children don’t have to feel like junk. It must be objects that you are proud of – backdrops for everyday memories, both big and small.

Designed to get in the way

Piccalio rejects the idea that the furniture of children should be hidden. Instead, the pieces are designed to get in the way, intended to take space with goal, beauty and function. For Design-Savvy parents, this philosophy offers a welcome alternative: furniture that respects both the needs of children and the aesthetics of a carefully considered house.

In an era in which sustainability and lifespan are more important than ever, the pieces of Piccalio are designed to be cherished, not thrown away.

For designers, this brand innovation is a reminder that identity goes beyond logos or surface esthetics, it is about building a coherent visual and material world where products, philosophy and branding are all brought to each other.
