With a clear autumn feeling, it was great to let a part of the string jump on the grass last week while we build up before the start of the actual jumping season. I look forward to our beginners who start their career about obstacles and they will have a lot of jumping exercise between now and then. With very few summer jumpers this year we have a larger than normal string for the coming season and there is sufficient potential to realize in the coming months.
Thank you for all the friendly birthday wishes I received last Friday. I was lucky to be invited again for the Racing Welfare Charity Golf Day in Jersey thanks to owner Bunny Roberts. Bunny has been running the tournament for many years and it raises an essential for the excellent cause.
On this occasion it was pleased to be accompanied by owners Ed Ware, Mark Little and Charlie Allan and although we did not win, a lot of good wave was interspersed with a lot of humor.
Exactly on the subject of Jump Racing, the Adlestrop Club is delighted to work with Venatour Racing For ‘an evening in the celebration of Captain Forster’ on Wednesday 22ND October in Dunkertons, near Cheltenham.
One of the legends of the sport, his influence goes wide and we are delighted Fergal O’Brien, Luke Harvey, Hywel Davies and Graham Thorner have agreed to come and tell stories both fascinating and funny of their experience working with ‘The Captain.’
