We have two runners in Ludlow today with Bluenose Belle (pictured) and Sumatran Tiger. Belle runs the two-mile handicap hurdle at 1:35 p.m. She has won her last two races, but has had a summer break due to a broken splint bone. However, she seems to be in good shape now and hopefully the ground won’t be too soft for her.
Sumatran Tiger runs the handicap hurdle for novice mares at 3:50 p.m. She also likes decent soil and today may be the best currently available. Hopefully she can be competitive in her first handicap after finishing a comfortable second in her last race at Huntingdon. Finn Lambert drives both.
Little Big Kev will be named in the two and a half mile beginners handicap hurdle at Market Rasen on Wednesday. Ideally he probably needs a little further, but it’s a good opportunity for his first run back since suffering a stress fracture in his last race at Uttoxeter. He has shown talent in the past and hopefully the ground won’t be too soft for him. Tom Bellamy takes the ride.
