THIS is the moment a truck plowed into a crowd of hundreds of anti-Iranian regime supporters.
Chaos broke out after the U-Haul vehicle drove through the demonstration outside a federal building in Westwood, Los Angeles, on Sunday afternoon.
Emergency services were called to the scene around 3.30pm to reports that a man had driven the truck through the planned protest.
Signs on the side of the U-Haul read: “NO SHAH. NO REGIME. USA: DO NOT REPEAT 1953. NO MULLAH.”
Video shows protesters storming the van and tearing signs off the side of the vehicle.
They threw verbal abuse at the driver through a smashed passenger window.
At least two people were injured and treated at the scene, the Los Angeles Fire Department said.
Firefighters also said they were working to find a third person who was also injured, but the size of the crowd slowed their response time.
As police led the man away, some protesters were seen trying to punch him and hit him with flagpoles, it was reported.
The truck’s windshield and windows were reportedly shattered.
The demonstration was in support of the ongoing mass protests against the regime in the Islamic republic.
New reports confirmed that the death toll in Iran had risen to 579, including eight children, after a fortnight of protests.
It comes at a time when demonstrations against the regime are breaking out worldwide.
Protesters began gathering in Kensington, London, outside the embassy, before moving to Whitehall last night waving the country’s old pre-Islamic flag.
Some protesters were seen throwing objects at the embassy, with police officers having to intervene to prevent intruders from storming the building.
Photos of Iran’s leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, were also burned in the crowd.
Many instead waved an image of exiled Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi.
Crowd in Berlin, Madrid And Paris last night was sung for the end of Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s reign.
