Mock Draft Scenarios: Tight ADP Trends – Dynasty League Football

I’m going to turn back the clock a bit and look at DLF’s Superflex Dynasty ADP from last April and compare it to the most recent ADP data we now have in January. I wanted to go back a whole year and look at February, but that didn’t seem like an apples-to-apples comparison since we still hadn’t seen any rookies at the combine and a lot of people didn’t know much about the class of 2025 at that point, but ADP’s April pre-NFL draft, with no landing spots, should give us a nice base to start with. The goal here is to see who has risen and fallen in ADP over the past calendar year, and hopefully help us identify players we can target in trades, hold, or try to trade away depending on their perceived value. I previously examined the ADP of the quarterbacks, the ADP of the running backs, and the ADP of the wide receivers last week. Finally, I’m looking at this week’s tight ends and wrapping it up, so let’s take a look at where we were, where we are now, and where we’re going.

Tight ends are an interesting bunch. It is at the same time the shallowest of the positions, yet it is easiest for me to find sleepers and streamers. With the right fit, any unknown TE4 can get into the end zone and end up as a top 15 option at the position in any given week. Needless to say, these are outliers from week to week, while the studs at the position are well-known and highly sought-after fantasy commodities.

TE1s

At first glance it seems that we have had a lot of turnover in the top layer. Upon closer examination, eight of the top twelve from last April are still there, with only four players being replaced. Even within that group of eight we had some movement, with George Kittle dropping eight spots from fourth to twelfth and Colston Loveland and Tucker Kraft moving up five spots each. Mark Andrews, TJ Hockenson, Travis Kelce and David Njoku all dropped out of the top tier completely, falling from eight to seventeen places, with Hockenson and Kelce being the biggest losers. Hockenson had a terrible season, finishing TE22 after being drafted as a TE6 entering the season – one of many disappointing Vikings. Kelce fell the furthest, landing at TE26. With his NFL future still unknown, it’s difficult to make a choice for a 36-year-old who may not even play football anymore. David Njoku’s fall is likely due to the emergence of Harold Fannin Jr in Cleveland, but Njoku is a free agent and will likely land somewhere where they will include him in the offense, making his fall to TE25 laughable. It’s a tremendous value if you can get it for that price.
