The Bees came from behind to beat Newcastle in west London on Sunday, securing their fourth win in six Premier League home games this season.
Harvey Barnes had fired the visitors in front but Brentford equalized from a similar path as Michael Kayode’s long throw led to Kevin Schade’s equaliser.
The match turned in Brentford’s favor when Dan Burn was sent off for a rash challenge in the area, with Igor Thiago keeping his cool and scoring from the spot. Thiago’s second – and eighth of the Premier League season – sealed the points.
Keith Andrews’ team has already defeated Aston Villa, Manchester United, Liverpool and Newcastle on home soil this season. Collins praised his side’s home form and believes Brentford are capable of troubling any side at the Gtech Community Stadium.
“Unbelievable. We come home and are always confident. Here we are a bit of a threat to a team,” Collins told Sky Sports.
“I didn’t think we were bad and probably didn’t create enough, but we knew we had to step it up again and we did that.
“It’s so difficult against ten men and you think you have to dominate. You have to be calm and score the third goal and we did that.”
“We just keep winning games and if he keeps scoring goals, we can go higher and higher.”
