Minnesota Timberwolves big man Naz Reid was forced to leave Saturday’s loss to the San Antonio Spurs after just five minutes due to soreness in his left shoulder.

Although the early retirement raised concerns, the issue does not appear to be serious.

Reid was initially listed as questionable for Tuesday’s game against the Utah Jazz, but he has since been upgraded to available on the league’s injury report, indicating the Timberwolves expect him to play.

In New Orleans, the New Orleans Pelicans received a cautiously positive update on defensive standout Herbert Jones.

The team announced via a press release that Jones has been upgraded to questionable ahead of Wednesday’s game against the Detroit Pistons.

Jones has missed 14 of the Pelicans’ last 15 games due to a sprained right ankle.

Despite appearing in multiple trade rumors this offseason, reports have indicated that New Orleans has not made him available in trade talks.

Meanwhile, there was a notable update involving the Washington Wizards and forward Cam Whitmore.

Although Whitmore is expected to miss the remainder of the 2025-26 season due to a blood clot in his right shoulder, he was seen on the bench during Monday’s loss to the Los Angeles Clippers.

According to Josh Robbins of The Athletic, his presence with the team is seen as an encouraging sign for his long-term health.

The former first-round pick is eligible for a contract extension this season and is expected to make $5.46 million in the 2026-27 season, the final year of his rookie deal.
