When they appear as a low mileage, low owner, beautiful-much separated examples, there are some cars that are more logical than others. The low -maintenance, exaggerated demanding exotic feels like an example; The Super Luxury Saloon that may simply serve as an urban transport for a dignitaries seems to be another. We have all seen our reasonable part of the Micras, Fiestas and Corsas who are kept new by a lady owner for runs to the post office and the MOT station.

But a Mitsubishi Evo? No chance. Whether it is about import or British car, it is difficult to introduce an evolution of Lancer from the original to the tenth that everything but regularly, and as intended. According to the standards of that time, they were relatively affordable – £ 30k in 2000 is now less than £ 60k, or Z4 M40i money – and they were all extremely good to drive. Some more than others, certainly, but every EVO experience would linger in the memory for a long time. It is very difficult to imagine that you signed on the dotted line for one of them, new or used, cheap as chips or top drawer, and not to embrace everything that active vulture control, the 4G63T and everything else that makes an EVO to offer.

Moreover, let’s be honest – none of the ten Evo’s are cars to make a proud of a portfolio. Nobody was conventionally beautiful cars, based on normal or — baarden Japanese salon cars. They are not a coach -built Italian exotics or rare Groove British GTs. They are Evos – for driving and scaring supercars, not really for Ogling.

Yet this exists. It is an EVO VI GSR, a car that has been in the UK since 1999 – imported by Warrender on the island of Man – and that has no change whatsoever. The motor compartment, the completely inconspicuous (bar de recaro chairs) interior and the unmistakable exterior are exactly as they were 25 years ago. And it is less than 7,500 miles.

That is not a mistake either – here is an EVO VI that has shown new 7.234 miles since new. It is as if you find a dream cast that has never been played, a maximum force that has never been read, or a Bacardi Breezer who is never drunk – a staple of the early 1900s in a state that you would never expect to find in 2025. Which of course makes it enormously intriguing. It is good museum class, without wear, blemish or imperfection. History has an abundance of coupons, the MOTs in the past are flawless and the bottom would be remarkable. While Fast & Furious Hommages and 2.2-liter Stekens are cool, there is really little to match an untouched British car.

You naturally pay for the privilege. All Japanese icons of that time are nowadays appreciated and Mitsubishi does not show any signs of even remotely again in 2025. This is for sale at £ 65k, or more than twice what can be paid for a higher example of kilometers. But if only the very best Evo will be in the collection next to a 22B, V-Spec R34 and RX-7 Bathurst (and perhaps just ride occasionally to satisfy some curiosity), there cannot be much better in the world.
