Mirror -founder Brynn Putnam to reveal her new startup at Disrupt 2025 | Techcrunch

Seven years after revelation Mirror at Techcrunch Disrupt 2018, Bynn Putnam returns to the stage where it all started. The serial entrepreneur who was converted from a fitness concept into an acquisition of $ 500 million by Lululemon will debut her last enterprise on Techcrunch Disrupt 2025 in Moscone West in San Francisco in October.

The path of Putnam of today’s breakthrough disorder is a story about very smart timing. Mirror, the affiliated fitness device that brought boutique training lessons to Huizen, was launched just when the pandemic created an unprecedented demand for home fitness solutions. The timing turned out to be so pointing that Lululemon took over the company for $ 500 million only two years after the debut.

Now Putnam is gambling on a different cultural shift – the growing desire to disconnect from screens and make personally contact family and friends again. Her new company, still active in Stealth mode, develops consumer game hardware that is designed to bring people face-to-face instead of insulating them behind individual devices.

“We are about to enter a Golden Age of hardware,” Putnam recently told Techcrunch on one of the investors aimed StrictlyVC -eveningsPointing to the convergence of adult display technologies, affordable components and AI options that make new types of interactive devices possible.

The new company represents a shift in priorities for Putnam. Where Mirror was about individual performance and self -improvement, her latest project focuses on shared experiences and reinforcing relationships. She describes it as the use of technology, not as the primary experience, but as an enabler for better human connections.

Putten inspiration from Nintendo’s philosophy to use “withered technology with lateral thinking” – adult, affordable components in combination with innovative experiences – Putnam follows the playbook that made Mirror successful. Instead of pushing technological limits, she focuses on creating fascinating user experiences with proven hardware.

The play area represents a natural next step for Putnam, which has built up its reputation to understand how technology can motivate behavioral change. Her boutiques fitness studios taught her how to make fascinating group experiences, lessons she applied to Mirror’s virtual classes and now on mirror scenarios that encourage face-to-face interaction.

Lerer Hippeau, the venture company that led the $ 3 million seed round from Mirror, has already participated in a very competitive financing round for Putnam’s new company, which indicates strong investor confidence in its ability to identify and take advantage of consumer trends.

The timing also corresponds to a broader revival of investing consumer hardware. After years of focus on business software and AI infrastructure, investors show renewed interest in consumer-oriented hardware that can use AI and adult componentecosystems to make new categories of devices.

The appearance of Putnam at Disrupt 2025 comes when Techcrunch celebrates its 20th birthday, and visitors can be assured that we bring together the biggest names in technology to share insights about the future of innovation.
