Professional tennis players Mirjam Bjorlund from Sweden and Canada Denis Shapovalov have officially said “I do.” Pair Exchanged vows in Zakynthos, GreeceChoosing the breathtaking lesante Cape Hotel as a setting for their four -day wedding celebration. Shortly after the big day, Bjorklund embraced her new chapter by updating her Instagram name Miriam Shapovalova.
The tennis duo crossed paths in 2019 for the first time, when Shapovalov Bjorklund saw open on Stockholm, after she had recognized her from her photo on the cover of a magazine. What started with a conversation by her sister soon turned into a friendship that came to something much deeper. When Bjorklund later traveled to London after an injury, the bond between them really took shape. In July 2023 they were engaged to a beach in Bastad, Sweden, and now they have sealed their dedication with a wedding on the banks of the Ionian Sea.
Only 30 of their close relatives and friends were present to witness the union. The ceremony took place outside, with the sea stretching endlessly in the background. Bjorklund ran through the aisle in a strapless dress from the Ukrainian designer Milla Nova, while Shapovalov waited with a big smile that he admitted that he could not hide.
Perhaps the biggest surprise came during the reception, when the newlywed people brought the traditional slow dance and their guests surprised with a choreographed routine inspired by the comedy The Wedding Ringer.
