Michael ‘Venom’ page on a new impressive performance in the Octagonachieving a unanimous decision victory at no. 9 ranked Jared Cannonier at UFC 319.
Page was his usual energetic and entertaining self in the opening round, talking about garbage and played for the live audience. Near the half point ‘Venom’ landed a flourishing right hand that canonier was. Instead of looking for the kill, ‘MVP’ encouraged Cannonier to get up and offered some waste in the direction of the former medium -sized challenger of the middleweight title.
‘MVP’ landed a large right hand in the second that Cannonier stumbled halfway through the cage, but again, Page chose to let ‘Killa Gorilla’ back.
Page grew a bit impatient and waved large with a right hand that took him out of balance, allowing Cannonier to score an all too easy Takedown. Cannonier was able to keep Page’s back to the mat for a large part of the last five minutes. Unfortunately for Cannonier it was not enough to influence the score cards in his favor after Page’s strong show in the first and second rounds.
