Wasim Jaffer vs Michael Vaughan goes viral again as Marco Jansen destroys India in Guwahati

Jaffer shared a popular meme from a Bollywood classic, ‘Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham…’ featuring Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol, and tagged Vaughan with a cheeky message that immediately went viral.

But the tables have now turned and Vaughan has not missed the opportunity. As India folded for just 201 runs in their first innings during the ongoing second and final Test in Guwahati, Vaughan, in reply to South Africa’s massive 489, made the most of the opportunity to taunt Jaffer.

India had already handed a huge lead of 288 runs to South Africa on Day 3 in Guwahati, and that provided the perfect door for Vaughan to fire his return shot at Jaffer. Former England captain Michael Vaughan boldly pointed out a major reason behind India’s collapse and that is left-arm pacer Marco Jansen.

Notably, Marco Jansen broke the Indian batting order with a spell that might have sealed the match for the Proteas side in Guwahati. Jansen took six wickets for just 48 runs, tearing India’s middle and lower order apart.

His victims included Dhruv Jurel for a duck, Captain Rishabh Pant for 7, Ravindra Jadeja for 6, Nitish Reddy for 10, Kuldeep Yadav for 19 and Jasprit Bumrah for 5.

Besides Jansen, South African spinner Simon Harmer piled on more pressure with three wickets for 64 as the hosts failed to fight back in the ongoing final Test.

As the Indian innings collapsed, Vaughan made a witty joke to Jaffer saying, “Hello @WasimJaffer14… How are you today…? Left arm seams are not easy to deal with… đŸ˜œ”

Marco Jansen’s spell makes India hopeless in Guwahati

Meanwhile, Marco Jansen produced one of the deadliest spells ever seen by a visiting fast bowler in India. The young all-rounder almost single-handedly dragged South Africa to the doorstep of a rare Test series victory on Indian soil. It was a shocking collapse as India looked strong at one point.

At 95 for 1, the Indian innings looked stable and under control. But everything changed when Jansen returned for his second stint. From then on, India fell apart in dramatic fashion, losing six wickets for just 27 runs. Now all India’s hopes of leveling the Test series were gone.

Jansen used the short ball as a weapon and knocked down batters one by one. He took four wickets with only bouncers, and this is a rare feat in India, where pitches usually favor spin and slow movement. In fact, no bowler in India has taken so many bouncer wickets in a single innings.
