Michael Chandler returned to the wrestling mats last weekend in the RAF 3 main event, defeating Chad Mendes. After finally returning to the winning column, although not within the octagon’Iron’ didn’t do anything he usually does.
This time, Chandler did not call out former UFC doubles champion Conor McGregor, which surprised many fans. He recently spoke about why he avoided the call-up, and also gave an optimistic update on his future fight with McGregor:
“Obviously I’m not going to call out Conor in a wrestling match. I’ve done it enough. The fight is happening. You know I’ll fight. You know he wants to fight me. He’s brought guys into his training camp to emulate my style. I’ve been called, signed, sealed and delivered since June 2024. He will make good on his promise, his word… Me vs. Conor McGregor, South Lawn of the White House, the biggest card ever made, the biggest spectacle the UFC could ever pull off.”

As Chandler pointed out, the Irishman is back at training campas evidenced by his social media posts. McGregor is also in the testing pool and his sole focus appears to be the UFC White House 2026 card.
Michael Chandler proposes the idea of a White House belt
Michael Chandler will look to snap his three-fight losing skid when he meets Conor McGregor at the UFC White House in 2026. Chandler has a strategy in place and is confident he can get past ‘The Notorious’.
Furthermore, in an interview with Damon Martin, ‘Iron’ recently proposed the idea of creating a White House belt for those featured on this unique map. Chandler says this would make the event much more memorable.
“Maybe they’ll come with the White House belt. Something cool for this momentous occasion that we can throw on the shelves in our offices and stuff. That would be great.”
