‘When he says Manchester United, I’ve heard indications that he was a United fan as a child. I don’t know if that’s true, but I heard that this was his team as a kid. That’s a draw.
‘If you look at what United are doing at the moment and how they are playing, and the possibility of actually having stability at Manchester United, it becomes a temptation. With Michael Carrick it just feels like a different place. It feels completely different.
