Philadelphia – The Mets have probably lost an interesting arm for the rest of the season and they no longer hope.
Tylor Megill is again closed off from throwing after a setback in which he felt tight in his arm as he threw his secondary fields on Sunday.
Almost three months after his first injury, Megill was sent to New York for another MRI exam.
The right-hand side had realized an elbow disposal that arose after a start in June in which he also felt discomfort to throw his off-speed pitches, and a subsequent MRI exam when inflammation found in the elbow.
Carlos Mendoza did not want to do Megill for the year and did not want to speculate about a possible operation before he learned the results, but he acknowledged that the recurrence was a concern.
“The fact that he still gets another MRI and where we are,” said the Mets manager before he started a series in Citizens Bank Park, “feels like we don’t have time anymore.”

Megill had made six rehabilitation start with Double-a Binghamton and Triple-A Syracuse to various results: he hit nine in 3 ¹/₃ One-hit innings August 17 and allowed five points in two-plus innings while felt the inconvenience on Sunday.
The Mets, who have six starting pitchers in their rotation and Kodai Senga in the hope of becoming an option after they have been chosen, Megill would probably not return as a starter, but if a Reliever, and his powerful things could have played in a shorter burst.
Instead, the Mets and Megill will wait for the results of the imaging that will probably end a season in which he has thrown to a 3.95 ERA in 14 starts.
