Houston, Texas (Ktrk) – Part of a neighborhood in the northeast of Houston flooded at the weekend, with high tide that even comes to a local company and some cars.

Metro confirmed to ABC13 that although his contractor moved equipment for a bus stop improvement project, they became a waterline valve pile on Friday evening and damaged them.

ABC13 looked at 311 records and found calls to the city that evening and the next day.

The first phone call came on Friday around 8:42 PM according to that report, the caller stated that contractors reached a service line and that the area flooded with a machine in the ditch.

Houston Public Works said that an inspector went out that night, but could not repair it because the tractor was still in the ditch. Crews had to wait for the contractor to remove it, according to public works. The department said the repairs completed on Saturday afternoon.

At first glance, Melinda Miller said she thought a storm was coming through her neighborhood when she saw all the water.

“I told my daughter -in -law to call the city of Houston to see what’s going on,” said Miller. “Why are we under water?”

Miller said that although she is grateful that the floods have disappeared, she is now stuck with the aftermath.

“My son’s car is full of water,” said Miller.

ABC13 asked metro who would be responsible for repairs. In this case they said that the contractor is the person to contact with regard to real estate or vehicle damage. ABC13 contacted the contractor and waited for a response.
