Mercedes-Benz tailors a vehicle for a remarkable purpose.
League of Legends is one of the top gaming titles in the world of esports, and the MOBA (Multiplayer Online Battle Arena) game has become known worldwide, with competitors and teams around the world competing for the World Championship title every year. This year’s Worlds finals are fast approaching and will take place on November 9 in Chengdu, China. Mercedes-Benz is a long-time partner of the game and the developer that created the game, Riot Games, and has been involved in the tournament since its inception earlier this year.
As the tournament final approaches, Mercedes Benz has unveiled incredible custom vehicles created for the tournament, including a special CLA Art Piece, based on the new generation of the CLA, which showcased some of the most advanced technology Mercedes-Benz has put into a vehicle to date, as well as an electric Mercedes-Benz G-Class which has the distinction of being the official trophy bearer for the Summoner’s Cup, the prize that teams compete for in the tournament.
Featuring a special trunk module tailor-made for the Summoner’s Cup, the G-Class’ electric trophy carrier is just one part of Mercedes-Benz’s long-standing partnership with League of Legends. One of the participating teams, South Korean T1, is led by superstar player Lee ‘Faker’ Sang-hyeok, the first member of the League of Legends ‘Hall of Legends’ and the owner of a customized Mercedes-AMG SL as a result of his induction into the Hall of Fame. The team has reached the World Cup final for the fourth time in a row and is aiming for its third consecutive victory this year. With a special trophy carrier created for the tournament final and artwork reminiscent of the game’s lore, Mercedes-Benz’s partnership with League of Legends becomes even richer at this year’s Worlds Finals.
