Merab Dvalishvili has weighed the upcoming UFC -Welterweight title fight between Jack della Maddalena and Islam Makhachev.
Maddalena will risk the 170 pound gold in Madison Square Garden in New York City on November 15. The competition will UFC 322 head lines. Makhachev has left the UFC Lightweight Championship in an attempt to secure gold in a second weight class.
Dvalishvili knows a few things about title fights. The ruling UFC Bantamweight Champion recently spoke against Helen YeeAnd he gave his assessment of the confrontation between Maddalena and Makhachev (via Inappropriate).
“It will be difficult for him, but it is possible for Islam Makhachev to win the second belt,” said Dvalishvili in an interview with Helen Yee. “JDM is a great hunter, a great striker, but Islam is difficult. He is struggling well and he is a Southpaw. He is not touched, but he takes people down and he makes people Maul. Maddalena weltered the Welterweight title in May when he defeated Makhachever’s teammate Belal Muhammad through a unanimous decision.
