“It was a great match for me. I am happy with the way I played, with the way I served,” Medvedev said in his interview on the entire country. “I am happy to win of course. I have not won many competitions, so I am happy to win. I really love the city, I enjoyed it here, so I am happy to stay a few more days.”

Medvedev won nine consecutive matches of 2-2 in the first set to take full control over his first Lexus ATP Head2head meeting with Basavareddy. Although he was broken for the only time in the game when he served on 5-1 in the second set, he soon wrapped a victory in which he converted four of the eight breaking points he earned, according to Infosys ATP statistics.
