This $400 payment is not a wagering payment.
It is a separate one-time payment that makes you eligible to be nominated for only Meadowlands-run races for the life of the horse.
Failure to make this $400 ECP payment, regardless of intent to race in the 2-year-old races or not, will result in the exclusion of any horse from Meadowlands Added Money events. for the life of the horse.
Every horse from a father who is listed as eligible MUST make the one-time $400 ECP payment due (postmarked by) February 15, 2026 to be eligible to nominate for Meadowlands 2YO Early Closers for the 2026 season and/or to make the 2-year maintenance payment or plan to make the additional payment for the 2027 Meadowlands Pace.
Meadowlands breeds affected by the ECP payment for the 2024 foals are:
Kindergarten (all divisions)
New Jersey Classic Series (all divisions)
Freshman Final Four (Governor’s Cup, Three Diamonds, Valley Victory & Goldsmith Maid)
2027 Meadowlands Pace 2-year maintenance payment/2-year additional payment.
The full range of nomination and support payments stated in the race conditions must then be made before the horse is eligible for an Early Closer or stakes.
Nomination payments on Meadowlands Early Closers for 2 year olds in 2026 will be deferred to March 15 and support payments have been adjusted accordingly.
Only those 2-year-olds who have made the one-time $400 Meadowlands ECP payment may race in the 2-year-old baby races at The Meadowlands.

The ECP payment will not be required for horses over 2 in 2026. Horses 3 and over can be nominated for the 2026 Meadowlands Early Closers before February 15 by making the nomination and support payments for the events as normally done.

Wagers on the New Jersey Sires Stakes (Platinum & Silver legs and finals), New Jersey Standardbred Development Fund (legs and finals) and SBOA or NJ stakes (Garden State, Homegrown, Renaissance) do not require this ECP payment.
