Nair earned a win on his first ride of the night (Race 3) by piloting four-year-old pacer Volcanic ($7.10) to victory ahead of his father Gregg McNair. His next stage (Race 6) did not go to plan thanks to an equipment failure in the first corner by pacer Carsonsbuckngo.
McNair didn’t have to wait any longer to reach the milestone as he guided Wicked Express ($2.40) to a gate-to-wire score in the eighth race of the evening for trainer Kyle Fellows.

A Guelph native, McNair has been among Canada’s all-time greats since starting his career in 2008. He reached 1,000 wins in December 2010, becoming the then-youngest harness racing driver to reach that milestone. In the 2017 season, McNair was named Canada’s Driver of the Year at the O’Brien Awards, while winning the National Driving Championship in 2018 and 2022.
McNair has won multiple Breeders Crown events, including one last October at Woodbine Mohawk Park with The Last Martini. He finished the 2025 campaign with 258 wins and $6.8 million in earnings to mark his 12th career win.e season with more than $5 million in season revenue.
Overall, McNair has a career earnings of $95 million, with 5,000 wins.
