Max Holloway won’t count out Justin Gaethje for the title union against Ilia Topuria

Max Holloway has given his thoughts on a future clash between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje.

Gaethje secured a lightweight title unification when he defeated Paddy Pimblett to become interim UFC Lightweight Champion. Topuria, who has been on a break, recently cleared up some personal matters and said he is back in fighting mode.

Holloway has shared the Octagon with both Topuria and Gaethje. During an interview with Stake.com“Blessed” said if Gaethje can entice Topuria to play his game, anything can happen.

“You know, people seem to think that after Justin’s last fight, Ilia will win easily. I think sometimes you have to do what Justin did against Paddy. You have to make it ugly and bring people into the fight, if they’re not used to that style. I think Justin made that fight look like what he wanted it to look like, and I congratulate him. I’d like to get that back against Ilia, and I know Justin would like to get that back against me, so whoever wins, I think I’m in in a great position.”

UFC must have Topuria vs. Make Gaethje official. Many are expecting an announcement soon as it is now clear that Arman Tsarukyan is on the outside looking in.

Holloway could very well be one step closer to facing the winner of Topuria vs. Gaethje could be, depending on how his UFC 326 fight on March 7 goes. “Blessed” will face Charles Oliveira with the BMF Championship on the line. The two had a fight that ended prematurely in 2015. Oliveira suffered a micro-tear in his esophagus, which quickly halted the fight.
