Mauricio Ruffy had a disappointment at the UFC Paris card and one analyst has some criticism.
Ruffy shared the Octagon with Benoit Saint Denis last Saturday in Accor Arena. Although Ruffy was successful with his striking, it was a disaster class on the floor for him. Saint Denis was able to endure the storm and scored an entry of the second round.
Ruffy has taken a lot of anti -aircraft guns after the defeat. During the UFC Paris Post-Fight Show on ESPN+, Din Thomas shared his conviction that Ruffy’s wants to keep fighting, was exhausted when it did not go on its way (via Mmafighting).
“I have been high on Ruffy since he hit the stage,” said Thomas at the UFC Paris Post Show. “We made comparisons between him and Conor McGregor, and I expected that from Ruffy. I said this guy, especially fighting a man who is going to be wild like Benoit Saint Denis, I thought he could take him apart. I thought he was something fascinating, he was no longer to do his game, he was no longer to do.
Thomas continued to say that Saint Denis made him believe that he is still relevant in the lightweight division.
“He didn’t want to be there anymore, and it surprised me,” said Thomas. “He let me eat my words. And I am always happy if these guys can let me eat my words, because that means there is something that I don’t know. I own it. Benoit Saint Denis let me eat my words tonight. I was uncomfortable to talk to Benoit Saint Denis about the fight because I thought he was going together.
Whether or not Ruffy can bounce back can still be seen. He had driven a seven-Fight-winning series prior to the loss against Saint Denis. “One shot” will have to make adjustments to the fighting nerds adjustments to its struggles. Ruffy figures to have some time on his side at the age of 29.
