Matt Ritchie has a new club.
An official announcement by reading FC on Thursday and revealed that the former Newcastle United star joined the League One Club.
Matt Ritchie was released last summer by United and signed for Portsmouth.
Signing a two -year contract with Reading FC, that Matt Ritchie is short for his 38th birthday for a few months because he turns 36 in 13 days.

‘Reading Football Club is pleased to confirm the signing of Matt Ritchie, which joins the royals as a free agent after the termination of his contract with Portsmouth.
The 35-year-old winger has signed a two-year-old deal in the Select Car Leasing Stadium and will be the newest addition to the team in this summer’s transfer window.
Ritchie arrives with a wealth of experience and has made more than 600 senior performances in the Premier League, Championship and League One. A Scotland International, he is known for his work percentage, leadership and quality in the last third part.
Ritchie had started his career in Portsmouth and enjoyed striking spells with Swindon Town, AFC Bournemouth – where he played a crucial role in their rise of the Premier League – and Newcastle United, making the magpies the title of the championship in 2017.
He returned to Fratton Park last season before he made the switch to RG2 this summer.
Ritchie will immediately join his new teammates while the Royals will continue the preparations for the coming matches. The move is subject to the usual ratification by the football authorities.
