Markkanen scores 30 and Jazz dominates fourth quarter, beating Nets 123-110

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Lauri Markkanen scored 30 points, Keyonte George added 29 and the Utah Jazz used a huge fourth quarter to beat the Brooklyn Nets 123-110 on Thursday.

The Jazz outscored the Nets 42-20 in the fourth quarter after trailing by 15 points in the first half. Markkanen and George almost single-handedly defeated the Nets, combining for 18 points.

Kyle Filipowski scored 15 points and Walter Clayton Jr. added 13 off the bench for Utah, which shot 14 of 22 (63.6%) in the fourth quarter.

Noah Clowney scored 29 points and Ziaire Williams added 23 off the bench for the Nets, who saw their two-game winning streak snapped.

With the score tied at 98 and 6:29 to go, George hit two straight three-pointers. Williams responded with another three-pointer that made it 104-101.

On the next possession, Tyrese Martin fumbled after stepping out of bounds and Bryce Sensabaugh was fouled on a three-point attempt, making two free throws to extend the lead to 106-101.

Filipowski then hit another 3-pointer and Markkanen followed with one of his own three points after Clowney’s layup with 3:39 left to make the score 112-103.
