Marcus Rashford has said that it will be a ‘joy’ to play for Barcelona and feels that he is ‘at home’ after completing a seasonal loan movement from Manchester United.
Although Barcelona initially completed a loan movement for Rashford, who had openly talked about his desire to become a member of the club, the Spanish giants have the option to make the move permanent next summer.
Barcelona announced the move with Rashford in one Iconic red telephone box that picks up the phone during a revelation video, with the attacker who says: “Yes, you can now tell them, the official.”
After leaving the phone call, Rashford said, “Let’s do this, Visca El Barca.”
Rashford spoke on his revelation as a Barcelona player, expressed his excitement when signing for the Spanish giants and said that it will be a ‘joy’ to play for the club.
‘I am very excited, me I think it’s a club where the dreams of people come out, “said Rashford.
‘What the club stands for also means a lot to me and it feels like I’m at home, and this is a big factor in my choice. It is a family club. People here are comfortable and it is a good place for people to show their skills.
‘I try to make decisive actions and fast dynamic plays and I always like good football, so I have always been a fan of watching Barcelona from a young age.
“It will be a pleasure for me to play here and I will enjoy it every minute.”
Barcelona confirmed broad details of the agreement on their website.
“FC Barcelona and Manchester United have reached an agreement for the loan from the player Marcus Rashford until 30 June 2026,” said a statement from Barcelona.

‘The agreement is also an option to buy the English forward.
‘The player signed his contract as a Barça player this afternoon during a private meeting in the presence of the FC Barcelona President, Joan Laporta; the director of the football area and other board members. ‘
Rashford, 27, returned to Old Trafford at the end of last season after an impressive loan in Aston Villa during the second half of the campaign.
He scored three goals and contributed four assists in all competitions, while the side of Unai Emery reached the quarterfinals of the Champions League.
His Villa Park form, however, was not enough to convince United -Baas Ruben Amorim to give him a second chance, where the Portuguese want to move the English international this summer.
Rashford was part of Amorim’s ‘Bomb Squad’ – a select group of United Exiles without a future in the manager’s first team plans.
