Marco Penge set up on Rasmus Højgaard’s dramatic mid-round stumbling to conquer his second DP world tour at the Danish Golf Championship.
Højgaard appeared on course for a second victory in three years when he stupid four shots through the sixth hole. But a bogey on the seventh followed by a two -squeeze at the ninth knew his advantage and let Penge, who had picked up Birdies at the third and eighth, informed of level.
The Englishman pulled ahead when Højgaard dropped a shot on the 10th and then extended his lead to two with an excellent bird on the 13th. Although Penge staggered on the 16th with his only Bogey of the day, he immediately bounced back with a birdie on the 17th to restore his pillow at 15 under par.
“I played so well this year,” said Penge. “Coming back from the time and so soon afterwards, to achieve what I’ve been great since then. My goal was not to become complacent, and my team and family let me strive for more. And the honor of Rasmus – to hit that shot in the last for Eagle and to force me to win it was incredible.”

Penge’s victory wore extra rewards: at the top of the closing Swing rankings for a $ 200,000 bonus (£ 148,000) and access to the last nine events of the season. He also fell $ 10,000 (£ 7,400) for his opening round 64, the lowest score of the week.
Højgaard still threatened late and produced a beautiful eagle on the par-vijf 18th to bind. But Penge held his nerve and rolled in a coupling bird put to the victory at Furesø Golf Klub.
