Crystal Palace defender Marc Guehi will not leave in the January transfer window, according to BBC sports journalist Sami Mokbel.
Liverpool are among the clubs keen to sign Guehi, who is out of contract with Palace at the end of the season and will leave the London club on a free transfer.
Mokbel continued Football focus: “My understanding at this time is that he is likely and expected to remain at Palace until the end of the season when his contract expires.
“Look, he has so many options in the summer. You have Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid, Inter Milan… all these clubs have shown varying degrees of interest in Guehi in recent weeks.”
“When you get to the end of the season, Liverpool are back in the mix, Manchester City are back in the mix.
“So he leaves, he goes, but I expect this situation to continue until the summer when he will have his choice of clubs.”
Mokbel added: “He has been performing week in and week out and the way he has responded to Liverpool’s failed transfer has put a number of clubs to the fore.
“That’s the kind of personality and character people want at their club. He has done himself a brilliant service this season.”
“He wanted to go to Liverpool, let’s make no bones about it, but he has put that behind him and has had a brilliant season so far.”
