Crystal Palace Oliver Glasner has made it clear that Marc Guehi should stay outside the transfer window in the club, because finding the right replacement is “almost impossible”.
Liverpool is expected to take a step for Guehi before Monday after seeing the Center-Back Help Palace to secure their place in the Europa Conference League.
The GuardianEd Aarons reported on Thursday that Palace Manuel Akanji of Man City and Monaco’s Mohammed Salisu has identified as goals to replace the 25-year-old.
The conversations are underway this week with Palace with Liverpool willing to pay more than £ 30 million for the English international.
But Glasner underlined his position on the issue prior to the journey from his side to Aston Villa on Sunday evening, that his captain should stay because finding a replacement is now ‘almost impossible’.
“It is now Friday now and the window closes on Monday, it has to be [stay]’Glasner told reporters.
?? “He must remain {stay}, it is not possible to find a Marc Guehi replacement”

“He has to because it is not possible, I think, at the moment to find a Marc Guehi replacement that can play directly in the Premier League, as a starter for Crystal Palace, who is consistent.
“If we see our basis of the success we have had in recent months, it is our defense. Marc is a crucial part, he is the captain, English international and has the most experience.
“I think it is almost impossible to get the right replacement now.”
Asked if Guehi still wants to be in Palace, Glasner tried to suggest that if the player had indicated that his wish to leave a deal would have been agreed.
“He shows in every game that he is focused,” said Glasner. “If Marc had said” I want to leave Crystal Palace, “it would have happened weeks ago.
“It is because of his situation, nobody who is to blame, if a player has left his contract for another year and gives the signal:” I absolutely want to leave, “there would be a deal at every club.
“Marc is fully dedicated to the team, he shows it every third day at the moment. It is my point of view that we have to take Marc.”
Although the manager will rightly have his opinion on this from a sporting perspective, he is powerless for his higher UPS that matches a sale to prevent him from losing the 25-year-old free next summer.
Palace chairman Steve Parish has already confirmed so much because they cannot afford to let him go back without anything – and Guehi’s wish to an Anfield switch removes every potential for a bid war.
