Manchester City star Matheus Nunes clearly has a glittering career ahead of him as a pundit, judging by his reaction to Newcastle United’s defeat to Pep Guardiola’s side.
Saturday evening’s Newcastle 2 Manchester City 1 match ended with Eddie Howe’s team clearly deserving of victory.
The visitors had more possession, but United had more and better clear chances. Big Nick Woltemade could have scored a hat-trick on another day, while Harvey Barnes missed an open goal before winning the match with two good goals in the second half.
However, according to this brilliant insight from Matheus Nunes; “If it had been a different day, we would have put all the balls in the net and the result would have been different…”
It was unbelievable that it took over an hour for the first goal as there were so many chances by then, but I think a fair score at that point might have been 3-1 to Newcastle United, the Manchester City star was totally deluded if he thought they deserved to win. At the final whistle United would probably have had the score 4-2.

“I think it could have been different.
“I think we had a lot of chances that we could have converted and we would be talking about a different game.
“But this is football.
“We didn’t take our chances, they took it. It is what it is.
“Today was not our day.
“If it was any other day, we would put all the balls in the net and the result would be different.
“I don’t think there is a magical explanation.”
