Man Utd want to make a plan to sign Lille star Ayyoub Bouaddi in January

Manchester United are planning to sign Lille midfielder Ayyoub Bouaddi in the January transfer window, according to reports Ekrem Konur.

It is no news that United are expecting major reinforcements in midfield after investing heavily in their attack last summer.

As a result, several midfield options have emerged, with the club reportedly retaining admiration for Premier League trio Adam Wharton, Carlos Baleba and Elliot Anderson.

The latest midfielder to be linked with a move to Old Trafford is France’s highly rated youngster Bouaddi, who is also attracting the attention of several clubs.

Despite only turning 18 at the start of October, the French youngster has made 73 appearances for Lille and has made 19 appearances in all competitions for Bruno Génésio’s side this season, with his performances earning admiration from the Red Devils.

According to Ekrem KonurMan Utd have joined the race to sign Bouaddi as a possible option to strengthen their position in midfield.

According to the report, the Red Devils have now made the France U21 international their ‘top target’ in midfield when the transfer window opens in January.

While the journalist does not say whether Lille will approve the Frenchman’s departure in January, he reveals that the French club are demanding a fee of up to £48 million to allow him to leave the Stade Pierre-Mauroy amid interest from United.

However, as expected from a player with such enormous potential, several clubs will compete with the 13-time Premier League champions for the 18-year-old’s signature. Women claims that Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City, Liverpool and Paris Saint-Germain have all shown interest in the midfielder.

Bouaddi has already shown he can handle the biggest stage, especially this season in the Europa League where he has featured in five matches. He has been praised for his relentless work rate off the ball and, even more so, for his excellent qualities on the ball.

He would be a brilliant addition to Amorim’s squad, and the club should not hesitate to test the waters in January with a bid close to Lille’s valuation. He is likely to cost more next summer and could attract stronger competition, especially if they fail to qualify for the Champions League.
