Manchester United are reportedly ‘most determined’ to sign Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Rocco Reitz, according to Spanish newspaper Transfers.
The Red Devils currently have Casemiro, Manuel Ugarte and Kobbie Mainoo as options in midfield, with the Uruguayan finding himself on the periphery after struggling to adapt to the Premier League.
This means that Casemiro and Mainoo have played regularly under Michael Carrick in recent weeks. Given that United have no European assignments this season and have not been able to delve deeply into domestic cup competitions, they can deal with the current options.
However, Casemiro will leave as a free agent at the end of the season and Ugarte may be sold. United would therefore have to sign three new midfielders, with the Red Devils likely to qualify for European football next season.
Now, Transfers state that Man Utd are looking to strengthen the engine room with young and dynamic players and have identified Reitz as a serious option.
The 20-time English champions are even willing to make a £35 million bid to convince Gladbach to cash in on him, with his existing deal running until 2028.
The report states that Borussia Dortmund and RB Leipzig have also expressed interest in signing the 23-year-old, having been impressed by his recent eye-catching performances.
