Man Utd ‘monitoring’ Dortmund star Jobe Bellingham

Manchester United are keeping tabs on Borussia Dortmund midfielder Jobe Bellingham over his potential move to Old Trafford. TEAMtalk.

After playing a crucial role in Sunderland’s promotion to the Premier League, a summer move elsewhere seemed almost inevitable for the talented youngster.

For the 20-year-old, finding a club that would guarantee consistent playing time was crucial to ensure his further development at the highest level. However, life at Dortmund has proven challenging since his move from the Black Cats in the summer window.

Bellingham has made just two starts in the Bundesliga, making six appearances in total and just 186 minutes of league action in total.

That situation has reportedly led to frustration for the youngster, with interested clubs now trying to position themselves ahead of a potential attack.

One of the clubs keeping a close eye on Bellingham’s situation is Man Utd TEAMtalkwho claims that the Red Devils are closely ‘monitoring’ his situation at Signal Iduna Park.

The report adds that the 13-time Premier League champions expressed interest in the England U21 international last summer and are keen to sign him, citing his technical and physical nature as attractive propositions.

However, they face competition from Premier League rivals Crystal Palace, who also showed interest in Bellingham in the summer, according to the report.

United Eye Bellingham

The 20-year-old, valued at £19 million by Transfer marketis barely six months into his five-year contract. As a result, a move in 2026 will be difficult, and Dortmund would likely demand a high fee if they sold to a club like Man Utd.

Bellingham made an impressive start in Dortmund during the Club World Cup. He scored a goal and an assist in four games before serving a suspension for yellow cards.

The ban meant he missed Dortmund’s much-anticipated match against his brother Jude’s Real Madrid – a match the Spanish giants later won. Since then, Jobe has struggled to register another target contribution.

The youngster has been deployed in several midfield positions – central, attacking and defensive – although he has often started from the bench.

With United’s core midfield consisting of Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro, both now in their 30s, the addition of youthful energy in the middle of the park, as well as the ability to fill a variety of positions such as Bellingham, could be invaluable if they get a deal over the line.
