According to Caught offsideManchester United have already opened talks with RB Leipzig winger Yan Diomande over a long-term contract.
The Red Devils focused largely on strengthening their attack last summer. Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo and Benjamin Sesko were signed to strengthen former head coach Ruben Amorim’s frontline.
The club is still looking for attacking recruits, and Caught offside report that Man United have been told it would cost at least £87 million to win Diomande away from Leipzig at the end of the campaign.

United have begun negotiations on a contract worth £3million a year with the winger with Leipzig’s agreement, but the Bundesliga outfit are quite clear they will not accept his departure until next summer.
Good talent
The 19-year-old signed for Leipzig from Leganes last summer and was an instant success for the German team, scoring seven goals and providing four assists in 16 appearances in all competitions.
Primarily a left winger, he has scored all his goals from the other flank this season. His versatility and progress will undoubtedly have impressed the Red Devils.
In addition to his involvement in goals, the young forward was also exceptional with his dribbling skills and duel-winning ability. He has completed 3 acquisitions per match with almost 5 duels won.
Diomande also excelled with his recovery. He has the qualities to become an elite winger in the long term.
United are unlikely to have the budget to fund him this winter, and he may wait until the summer to make a big move. They have a good working relationship with Leipzig, for which they signed Benjamin Sesko £74 million in August last year.
Leipzig waited for £87 million for Sesko before lowering the price tag. United will aim to do something similar to country Diomande. Personal terms may be a formality as discussions have already been opened with the player’s agents.
United played with two number 10s in the starting line-up under former manager Amorim, but the future could be different. The Red Devils’ hierarchy may want a new head coach, who will deploy a traditional 4-2-3-1 formation in the future.
