Manchester United are reportedly planning to make an ambitious move to sign Bayern Munich youngster Aleksandar Pavlovic, according to transfer expert Mike Brown.
After coming through the Bavarian club’s youth system, the 21-year-old made his first-team debut in 2023. The youngster mainly plays as a rotation option for the German giants; yet he has already shown glimpses of his great potential.
Pavlovic has won a Bundesliga title and a German Super Cup trophy at the Allianz Arena. After showing his qualities in recent times, he has already established himself as a key player in Julian Nagelsmann’s German national team.
Now, move on Football insider, Brown say Man Utd are planning to sign a new technically sound, dynamic midfielder to address their problems in the middle of the park and have identified Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton as a serious option.
However, the Red Devils also have Pavlovic on their radar and are closely monitoring his development before making a potential move.
Brown said:
“We know that Amorim wants to sign a midfielder in January. The boy Pavlovic from Bayern Munich is someone on their radar and someone they have been looking at.
“Whether or not they want to let him go will be up to United to find out, but they are keeping an eye on him and a number of other options for the January window.”
Pavlović to Man Utd
Pavlovic is valued at around £48 million Transfer market and has a contract with the Bavarian club until 2029. So they are in no rush to cash in on him next year, and United will have to make a lucrative offer to convince them to let him leave.
The German, who is 1.80 meters tall, is technically sound, can play threading passes between the lines, has an eye for long-distance passing, is comfortable against high-pressing teams and is also efficient in defensive contributions.
Casemiro’s contract expires at the end of this season and there is a good chance he will leave United on a free transfer. On the other hand, Manuel Ugarte performed below average and Kobbie Mainoo struggled to find regular playing time.
Pavlovic is a very talented player and could be a smart signing for Man Utd if they buy him. However, United will need more than one midfielder next year to tackle their midfield problems.
