Manchester United has in principle reached an agreement to sign RB Leipzig’s Center-Forward Benjamin Sesko this summer, according to Fabrizio Romano.
The agreement ends weeks of intense negotiation and a bidding war with Newcastle United after the Slovenian attacker indicated his preference for the Red Devils. United was supposed to have matched the offer of the Magpies, which now seems to be considered sufficient according to recent reports.
According to RomanoThe Red Devils have reached an agreement with Leipzig about the permanent transfer from Sesko to Old Trafford this summer.
Ruben Amorim has now been handed over a much-needed productive attacker, because the transfer expert claims that the deal for Sesko is worth £ 65 million plus £ 7.3 million in add-ons.
The 6ft 5 in Hitman agreed to a five-year contract with the club after he had made his intention that he preferred a step to become a member of the 13-meal Premier League champions, according to the journalist.
Romano Adds that Sesko has been given permission tonight to fly to Manchester to complete his medical and documents, whereby the formalities are expected to be completed on Friday.
Agreement
Adequate reinforcements were essential at Old Trafford after a gloomy campaign in which United only scored 44 Premier League goals and ended 15th.
Without European football to fight the next season, the pressure will be firmly on Ruben Amorim to deliver a considerably improved season, ideally ending in the top six and possibly protects silver work.
Man United has already strengthened their forward line with the arrivals of Matheus Cunha from Wolverhampton Wanderers and Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford.
Now that Benjamin Sesko would join, the Red Devils could soon have a formidable attacking trio, with Bruno Fernandes just operating behind them.
If the leading man in front, the 6ft 5 in Slovenian would thrive on the creative support behind him. Fernandes led the Premier League in opportunities created last season with 91, of which 10 were converted. Mbeumo is in fifth place with 70 opportunities formed, while Cunha became 15th with 57, which underlines the type of supply line that Sesko could benefit from the upcoming Premier League campaign.
Amorim will enjoy the chance to use his new attack trio in their Premier League opener against Arsenal by taking their first victory in six games against the North London club to extend their opening day record to unprecedented 23 victories.
