The tension broke out in Tamil Nadu’s Thiruvannamalai after a man non-vegetarian food was found in the Annamalai temple building, which caused indignation among devoted.
The incident took place in the fourth Praharam area (outer courtyard) of the temple. Detures noticed the man who ate food and immediately warned the temple authorities.
When officials approached him and wondering what he consumed, the man reportedly claimed that he had ordered ‘Kuska’ (Plain Biryani), but a piece of chicken was wrongly packed with it.
Civil servants instructed the man to pack the food and immediately warned the district police. The man was taken into custody for interrogation. Further investigation into the case is currently underway.
In a similar incident in January, Tamil Nadu BJP State Chairman K Annamalai condemned the Indian Union Muslim League leader and Ramanathapuram MP Navas Kani for alleged non-vegetarian food in the Holy Thiruparankunddam Subramanya Swamy Hill in Madurai.
Annamalai called the act “Deep pity” and had demanded action against the Member of Parliament and said, “Hindus are a peaceful community. This parliament member went up and ate non-vegetarian food. This is very unfortunate. Politics has led.” Without calling cani directly, he said to India today: “This MP should be rejected. He has created a problem with the law and the ordering. Deep unhappy.”
